Next monthly wine dinner will be on Monday May 21st at 6:30 pm. Featuring Italian wine this month. The best pairing of food and wine in town, bar none. Just ask the regulars! Owner and chef, Peggy, creates 4 special courses based on the wine selection each month, which she carefully selects from one of her many wine merchants–either a region or a winery is highlighted. The food she prepares each month is off the regular menu and you’ll be amazed at the way Peggy can magically match up each of the courses with the wines. Yum!

It was brought to my attention recently that our blog had missinformation about our happy hour.
We were trying happy hour this summer, but decided to discontinue it recently.
Ravenous is now back to its regular schedule:
Lunch: Mon-Fri 11:30am – 2:00-ish pm
Dinner: Tue-Sat from 5:30pm – 8:30-ish pm
Wine dinner: every 3rd Monday at 6:30 (except of course this month–it’s rescheduled to be on Sep 26th–see post for more info)

Peggy is the queen of matching wine and food! The vivacious owner of Ravenous Restaurant, Peggy Estrada, has some kind of sixth sense when it comes to pairing moderately priced local and international wines with food she conjures (not on the regular menu) once a month to please her special guests.
So, for the past 6 + years I’ve been going to this Downtown Tacoma neighborhood restaurant for monthly wine dinners. Every 3rd Monday night, as reliable as the phases of the moon, I get to have date night with my hubby and eat amazing food which is uncannily matched with some of the best wine I’ve ever had.
This Monday night (August 16th at 6:30pm) the 4-course, $50-dinner will feature Goose Ridge wines. http://www.gooseridge.com/ I’ve never tried them myself, but Peggy assures me all of the wines featured with the dinner are “delish.”
Can’t wait, as always, and will pay the price tomorrow morning.
